This Friday 1st May is 'Mayor's Night' which will be an entertaining night of music performed by local groups like Vegas Nights, Sarah Benton Vocals, Rising Stars Adult Theatre Company, East Grinstead Ukulele Club, as well as the Mayor himself, all accompanied by the musicians of the Conchord Big Band.As well as a fun evening, it is also supports the Mayor, Nick Hodges' two chosen charities – The Town Museum, and CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). The Town Museum is an asset to the town which needs funds to keep going to provide generations to come the history of our great town. Every Week in the UK, 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die from cardiac conditions. Cardiac Risk in the Young are a charity who want to stop this by raising awareness and promoting cardiac screening.
