Chequer Mead Friends presented a cheque to the Chequer Mead Arts and Community Centre Trust for £7459.57 on Tuesday Night as the final payment from the recently closed down Friends scheme.

The Friends decided to close at a recent EGM and Chequer Mead is currently looking to launch a new patrons scheme to replace the role of the Friends in fundraising and has been working with the former committee to include their expertise and advice.

Nick Hodges (Chairman) said “We are very grateful to the work of the friends over many years to raise money which has been so valuable to supporting the growth of Chequer Mead.”
It is not yet known what project the money will be put towards.
